Numbers 17 and 18.

As I’ve written previously, I’ve given up on TiVo (for 16 reasons). I continue to wait for a great TV technology. TiVo ain’t it. And just when I thought TiVo had no new ways to spoil our TV experience, it came up with a new one last night.

I think I tell what I learn!

I purchased a region-free DVD player (also called a multi-region DVD player) for Christmas this year so that I could easily play Finnish language DVDs on my TV. I am half Finnish, my wife is from Finland, and we go to great lengths to keep the Finnish language alive in our family, including making… [read full post]
Open source cross-platform audio and video player.

VLC Media Player 0.8.6 was released 12/10/06. VLC Media Player is an open source audio and video player for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. VLC is particularly good at playing file formats that might not play properly on QuickTime Player and Windows Media Player.
